Santorini | Getting Around Santorini

Your feet, two or four wheels or the public bus, are all you need to explore Santorini

Accomodation with a view - See Avalability

A car is the best way to explore the island during high season, when buses are overcrowded. Be very patient and cautious when driving – the narrow roads and heavy traffic, especially in and around Fira, can be challenging. Note that Oia has no petrol station and the closest one is just outside Fira. There are representatives of all the major international car-hire companies, plus a large number of local operators in most tourist areas. Note: scooter hire requires you to have a motorbike licence, while four-wheel vehicles require just a car licence. There’s a Santorini bus station at Fira, from where buses go to all corners of the island on regular schedules. KTEL Santorini Buses has a good website with schedules and prices. Tickets are purchased on the bus. In the summer buses depart from Fira for Oia twice-hourly, but keep in mind that more services take place before sunset. On a daily basis there are numerous departures for Kamari, Akrotiri, Perissa and Perivolos beach. And after your daily excursions, what best way to relax than at a villa to rent, one of the best accommodation options in Santorini.
