Achla beach is a tranquil heaven for the adventurous few

A secluded heaven immersed in tranquility, Achla beach is located on the northeast coast of Andros, 25 km from Chora and 28 km from Batsi town. Getting there by car is a challenge, but you can easily access it by ferry boat. The scenery is breathtaking and the bad road discourages crowds from descending, so it is very quiet.

The beach forms a cove that shields visitors from the summer winds and makes the waters ideal for snorkeling and fishing. The shore is covered by fine, white pebbles set against lush turquoise waters and a cascade of trees that offer natural shade. A small river ends nearby, creating an impressive biotope. Although not an organized beach, there are a few choices for accommodation in the area. On the rocks above Achla, there is the small chapel of Agios Nikolaos.
